Seed Quality of Lablab Beans (Lablab purpureus L.) as Influenced by Drying Methods and Storage Temperature

چکیده
Drying and storage are the common postharvest issues in seed production. Normally, seeds harvested at physiological maturity when moisture is higher than desired for safe storage. This study aims to evaluate use of drying methods suggest a suitable temperature lablab bean seed. Pods 30 days after anthesis subjected using sun, shade, oven, beads obtain target contents 14%, 12%, 10%. Dried then stored two temperatures; ambient (27.7–34.2 °C; 74 ± 5% relative humidity) refrigerated (2.0–5.0 25 six months. Both shade provided good results. However, gave highest germination percentage (≥70%) shortest duration achieve content 10%, along with economic benefit from repeated usage. The can be reused indefinitely by recharging an oven between uses, thus, indicating potential adoption farmers. Two commonly used (sun oven) have been proven unsuitable as they increase dead due heating damage. It further explained that during months temperature, declines were recorded antioxidant enzyme activities, performance, seedling growth. Therefore, best (≤5 °C) which defense mechanism maintained, it highly recommended farmers producers easily accessible, cost-saving, sustainable.
